Catalyst BI is delighted to announce that its partner, Samsung Electronics, is a finalist in the category ‘Best Data-Driven Process’ at the DataIQ Awards 2022.
Samsung’s shortlist is a result of the collaboration with Catalyst BI on their award-winning smartBI platform, which aims to bring consumer and market insight to the centre of business decisions.
Samsung has worked with Catalyst BI on the latest in AI, predictive analytics and natural language detection. Its data platform, commonly known by its users as ‘the jungle’ has evolved into a precious resource, achieving:
Samsung and Catalyst BI have been commended for utilising research to uncover the user barriers to adoption, namely their desire to: ‘brave and tame the ever-growing jungle of BI applications’. As a result, Catalyst and Samsung collectively implemented the following improvements for users:
Human intervention: Invented a natural language processing bot assistant; helping users understand the platform, find the insights they needed and the training resources.
Resurfacing: Planted an undergrowth of complex metadata to fuel a powerful search-function to instantly guide users to relevant apps.
Environmental education: Instituted an automated, compulsory, interactive induction to the platform for first-time users. We constructed an on-demand multimedia training repository answering the most searched and requested training topics.
Manicuring: Designed a dynamic landing page which reflected Samsung’s business structure. Widgets suggests apps based on the user’s job-role, favourite apps and most-used data sets. Also installing a sign-posting within the app; displaying instant information on app contents and KPIs. Push notifications were introduced to alert users of issues occurring within the app and/or remind creators to update or delete aging apps.
